Management of Fire Safety across your estate

A country estate usually comprises a complex collection of buildings, of varying ages, often including listed buildings, and with a multiplicity of uses, domestic and commercial, occupied and empty. Managing the fire safety arrangements for the buildings on the estate generally becomes an additional role delegated to the Estate Manager. With the best will in the world, the knowledge of that individual is unlikely to be to a specialist level, as this would need a huge commitment in time and money to achieve and maintain. It is also customary to delegate responsibility to commercial tenants to make their own fire safety arrangements and this arrangement can lead to a variety of standards of fire safety across the estate, dependant on the diligence of the tenant.

Estate Managers are realising that it makes good strategic and financial sense to "buy-in" the services of a specialist fire safety consultancy to oversee and manage the fire safety across the array of buildings and fire risks within the Estate. This takes away the worry of fire safety compliance across the estate by providing the knowledge of a professional and experienced fire safety consultant. It also harmonises the fire safety arrangements across the Estate, providing management with an at-a-glance status of fire safety compliance in all buildings, provides assurance that buildings are properly protected and comply with legislative and insurance requirements, whilst allowing key members of staff to concentrate on their core role.
